If you’re looking for a travel tripod for your DSLR, I highly recommend the Joby GorillaPod SLR-Zoom. It folds up small enough to fit in a purse, backpack, or roomy pocket. The legs are flexible, so you can tie them around anything or fold them in any configuration and holds pretty well. You definitely need a tripod when traveling if you want to take group shots and nobody is around to take a photo of you, for example. Or how about when you want to hold your camera steady to capture the Northern Lights? Or what it you’re experimenting with time-lapse shots. Def need a tripod. I couldn’t live without my tripod on safari in Africa. I needed a steady camera to capture those sharp pictures of the baby cheetahs and the distant rhinos! Happy Snapping!
